Covid-19, or Coronavirus, is an illness that can affect your lungs and respiratory system.
The UK Government are following closely the advice of the Chief Medical Officer and Chief Scientific Officer in their approaches to dealing with the COVID-19 outbreak in the UK. Each day, the Government will now be organising press-conferences to update us all on the steps the Government are taking. I am updating this website daily with advice and guidance from HM Government.

Stockport Council Coronavirus Helpline - 0161 217 6046
The helpline is available Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm and on Saturdays and bank holidays from 10am to 4pm. The team will provide advice and tell callers how they can access support, particularly if the caller doesn’t have a network of friends and family to rely on and:
· is over the age of 70 and is self-isolating
· has received a letter from the NHS advising you're high risk and should stay at home
· is medically vulnerable according to the government criteria and should stay at home
Hearing aid batteries: If you used to get these from your local library, a delivery service is available. Phone 0161 217 6009 or e-mail libraries@stockport.gov.uk
My Marple Office is closed as a precautionary measure - however, my team and I are working remotely to offer advice to residents.
In order to manage the very large volume of correspondence my Office has received over recent days, and continues to receive, we do request that before making contact you check the information links above, cental Government advice, as well as national news outlets. They may provide the information you are seeking more readily than an individual response from my team.
