It is good that the amount of greenbelt earmarked for development has been substantially reduced. However, a number of issues remain.

New sites at the former Offerton High School, Gravel Bank Road/Unity Mill in Woodley, Hyde Bank Meadows/Oak Wood Hall in Romiley have been suggested for housing.

High Lane remains a preferred site, but with a drastic reduction in size.

I will also continue to work on a cross-party basis with Andrew Gwynne MP, opposing the expansion of the Bredbury Park Industrial Estate.

The policy of brownfield first, inclusion of infrastructure and public consultation remain the top priorities for me.

I will be working hard over the coming days and weeks to continue to protect greenbelt land and listen to the opinion of residents.
