William Wragg, the Member of Parliament for the Hazel Grove constituency, volunteered at the Bosden Moor surgery in Offerton helping to marshal outside the vaccination centre.
Across Stockport, 75,000 people have now received their first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, and the roll-out continues to gather pace across the town. Alongside the continuing decline in COVID-19 infection rates, Stockport is well on its way to reaching and beating targets for vaccination set by the NHS and the Government.
William said: “It was a pleasure to volunteer at the Offerton vaccination centre. The work that GPs, nurses and staff, alongside volunteers, are doing to protect our most vulnerable from COVID-19 is incredible. The enthusiasm of people to receive the vaccine is great to see, as is their appreciation of all involved”.
The order in which people are invited to attend a vaccination appointment is based on several risk factors and people should wait until they receive a letter and/or message from the NHS.
However, if you are 65+ and have not yet received a vaccination appointment, you can book one using this link: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccinat…
William added: “I’d like to thank all staff across our NHS who are working tremendously hard to get these vaccines out. Let’s keep the pace up. That way we can start to move on from the terrible year we’ve had.”
