Today I was had to privilege to be with the family of World War 1 hero Wilfred Wood VC for the unveiling of the memorial train.
It was great to see Jonathan Reynolds MP also in attendance, as well as my constituent Melvyn Thorley, who brought the story of two local Victoria Cross recipients who both worked on the railways to our attention.
It was heart warming to see such a large turnout for this importance event. Well done to everyone at the Poppy Appeal and to all of the volunteers for organising.
