Alongside a falling infection rate, Stockport's vaccination program continues to go from strength to strength!
William Wragg, Member of Parliament for the Hazel Grove constituency, has welcomed the news that 65,000 Stockport residents have now had their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. This is a positive indication that Stockport will meet the Government's target of all four top cohorts receiving the first vaccination, or an appointment booked, before the mid-February. Alongside this, Stockport's infection rate continues to fall week on week.
William said: "Thanks to the dedication and hard work of our NHS, the British Army and Stockport Council, Stockport continues to set the pace for the roll-out of the vaccine program. The vaccination process is pushing Britain above and beyond other countries internationally and our most vulnerable are continuing to be protected against the virus. We mustn't lose faith- let's keep going so we can return to normality as soon as possible!"
This week, the NHS updated guidance for those over 70 who have yet to be vaccinated, you can contact the NHS and book a vaccination appointment if you are yet to receive a letter. Details can be found here: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccinat…
