William Wragg joined students and staff at Marple College for a few hours on the 11th December (2015) for a Q&A session.
Many of the students were studying politics and William took a range of questions from current national and foreign policy, to what is like to be a new Member of Parliament and how the change has been from being a teacher to MP.
William said, "I value spending time in our area speaking to young people so much. They may disagree with my politics, but they're engaged and that is what we should all be driving towards. As an ex teacher I know how important it is to engage with young people very early on and to listen and encourage them to speak to MPs like myself and even local Councillors and other people who are just interested in politics. Thank you to Marple college for inviting me, thank you to the staff for such an enjoyable visit and thank you to the students for asking some brilliantly tough questions".
