Friends of Bredbury Green are asking local businesses and residents to support their efforts to raise money for a new ‘splash-pool’ for Bredbury Green Primary School and Resourced Nursery.
The group have successfully raised £10,000 towards their target of £30,000 and they’re asking residents and local businesses who may be able to assist to donate raffle prizes, provide sponsorship, or just anyone able to give a financial donation to assist in hitting their target.
The splash-pool is used to help the children exercise but it has also proved to be extremely therapeutic to the children with more demanding needs and helps them adjust to the school environment and assists in starting to adapt their social development.
Bredbury Green Primary School and Resourced Nursery work with 367 children, and in 2014 they achieved ‘Outstanding’ in all areas of their OFSTED report. The school supports children from complicated and difficult backgrounds, and those with mental and physical restrictions making the splash-pool all the more important.
The pool is several years old now and needs to be updated to ensure the temperatures are at safe levels for the children to use as it has become extremely frustrating for the staff who haven’t been able to allow the children to use it as of late.
Local Member of Parliament, William Wragg said, “Friends of Bredbury Green are doing an incredible job and I think I speak on behalf of the whole community in thanking them for helping Bredbury Green Primary School. This splash-pool is crucial to the pupils and I’ll be doing my upmost to help Friends of Bredbury Green hit their target.”
