I was delighted to host a reception at Parliament recently for the organisers and those who took part in the One Voice initiative. The project brought together members of the UK Armed Forces and local schools to celebrate diversity, tolerance and understanding between faith groups.
There has never been more public money spent on education, and the Government are to be commended for that. Indeed, the diversion of a further £1.2 billion is a good start, but I want more cash for schools in my constituency.
William Wragg MP has today written to the Managing Director of Network Rail calling for urgent action to improve the situation for rail passengers after weeks of chaos and poor service following a national update to rail timetables.
As the Northern rail timetable fiasco entered its third week I have been working hard in Parliament to get answers from Government, and both Northern Rail and Network Rail about what can be done to improve the chaotic and unacceptable situation for passengers.
