As part of my campaign to improve funding for Stockport’s schools, it was excellent to bring local head teachers to meet the Secretary of State for Education.
Joe Barker from Marple Hall and Jacqui Ames from Norbury Hall put the case for boosting school funding locally. This is especially important as Stockport schools have been short-changed by Government Funding formulas for years.
The two teachers made excellent representations on behalf of pupils and parents for not just their own schools but all those in the area.
The Education Secretary said he will consider their views as we approach the Government Spending review in 2019. I will continue to work hard to improve the deal for our schools so that they can continue to deliver for our young people.
