At Education Questions today William asked the Education Minister to support calls for a new standalone school in the Marple area. William believes that expanding the Ludworth Primary school, as is planned by Stockport Local Education Authority, would cause more problems than it solves in the forms of traffic congestion and stretching facilities beyond breaking point. A new school in the area could avoid these problems while ensuring that there is plenty of schooling provision for the children of Marple.
William's question in full:
"Mr Speaker would my Rt Hon. Friend encourage the Stockport Local Education Authority to support calls for a new standalone primary school in the Marple area of my constituency to meet rising demand rather than cramming new places onto already full sites?"
