St. Mary’s Catholic Primary School, Marple Bridge, ‘virtually’ visit William at Westminster
Year 5, at St. Mary’s Catholic Primary School in Marple Bridge today joined William Wragg MP for a tour of the Palace of Westminster. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the tour happened virtually.
The Year 5 students, who are currently studying Manchester’s pivotal role in the campaign for female suffrage, then asked William a series of questions relating to his work as a Member of Parliament.
William said: “It was a pleasure to invite the staff and students of Y5 at St Mary’s to join me for a tour of Westminster today. The pupils asked a series of fantastic questions – they are a credit to the school, teachers and their parents. I look forward to welcoming St. Mary’s to Westminster in the not-too-distant future, as coronavirus regulations are relaxed. I had better watch my back- these budding politicians will very soon be the MPs of the future!”
Usually, William welcomes schools down to visit him in person at the Palace of Westminster, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all tours have been cancelled until further notice. If your school or community group would like to have a virtual tour, please do get in touch with William’s office. Telephone- 0161 427 0660 Email: william@williamwragg.org.uk
