William Wragg MP is leading a campaign to save the Barclays Branch in Marple- the last bank in Marple!
In the last few days, it has been announced that Barclays intend to close their branch on Stockport Road in Marple. This is the last bank branch in the area, with NatWest, RBS and HSBC all closing their branches in recent years. Barclays intend to close their branch on Friday 20th August, with staff redeployed to other branches.
William said: "This is a really disappointing move by Barclays, who assured me in 2018 when the Hazel Grove branch was closed that Marple would remain open. Whilst I understand that banking practises have changed, lots of local people rely on face-to-face banking services. Banks should be working together to maintain at least one facility in any community.
I am campaigning for this branch to remain open. Please join my campaign by signing this petition."
Please sign this petition below, and share with friends and family. I will submit my petition to the CEO of Barclays Bank.
